Every pregnancy is different and it varies from woman to woman. So it’s hard to predict if you are pregnant and when you will notice changes in your body. Early pregnancy symptoms, such as tender breasts, tiredness and feeling sick, are easy to confuse with signs of getting early periods. For some women, early signs and symptoms of pregnancy begin in the first few weeks after conception.

In addition to a missed period here are the most common early signs of pregnancy.

Sore breasts
Soreness or tenderness of breasts is the common and early signs of pregnancy. Tender and heavy-feeling breasts, darkening of the areolas and even more pronounced veins on your chest can be a first sign that you’re pregnant.

Shortness of breath
Do you get shortness of breath while climbing stairs or lifting something heavy. It might be because you’re pregnant. The growing fetus needs oxygen, leaving you a little short. In many cases this is considered as very common and it remains throughout the pregnancy.

Fatigue
Feeling fatigue and getting exhausted with your daily activities is another common sign of pregnancy. If you’re suddenly fatigued, it might be a response to the hormonal changes in your body. For many women, tiredness continues through the first trimester, but then ebbs in the second.

Nausea
Nausea and morning sickness can strike during day time as well at night. Usually this begins as early as three weeks after conception. While the cause of nausea during pregnancy isn’t clear, hormonal imbalance likely play a role. Pregnant women might also find that smells that never bothered them before now cause nausea.

Frequent urination
If there is sudden change in your urination pattern, then it could be symptom of your pregnancy. If you are pregnant then your body produces extra fluids forcing your bladder to work frequently. Usually frequent urination is confused with the increased level of fluid intake.

Mood swings
Mood swings usually happen when there is severe hormonal changes in your body because of the pregnancy. Due to this sudden changes you may feel emotional and weepy. Mood swings are common and shows early signs of pregnancy.

Body temperature
If you are pregnant, it is common to have variations in your body temperature. Along with the morning sickness your body temperature might increase. This indicates that you may have been charting your basal body temp to pinpoint ovulation. The basal body temp is elevated from ovulation until you get your period 2 weeks later.

Constipation or bloating
Your regular bowel movement is disturbed and you are facing constipation or bloating. This could be the early signs of pregnancy. Due to certain hormonal changes and extra level of progesterone in the body, the digestive system slows down which leads to constipation.

Early pregnancy test
The urine stick test is common to check if you are pregnant or not. If you get a negative result and you still don’t get your period, it might just be too early for the test to detect. During this time you may look upon other symptoms of pregnancy. Wait a few days and try the test again.
